Bruce previously served as a case manager for 12 years and worked with mentally and intellectually disabled individuals. He enjoys working with trainees and helping them improve their lives with his extensive experience.

is a full-time Certified Nurse Assistant instructor at Ottumwa Job Corps Center. She has worked in the health care industry for nearly 25 years and held many different roles, including her previous role as registered nurse for the last 10 years. All her past experiences make Monica a great CNA instructor as she can relate her past experiences as a student, employee and patient to nearly every chapter that is covered in the CNA curriculum. Monica’s main goal is to teach you not only how to be a great CNA, but also to acquire the knowledge, skills and confidence to be successful.

Shiloh Seim

is an apprentice coordinator and Work-Based Learning instructor at Ottumwa Job Corps Center. Her educational background includes earning an associate degree in arts and sciences, graduating from the Ottumwa Leadership Academy, and completing the Dale Carnegie Skills for Success Course. She previously served in operations management, mentoring and establishment of entrepreneurship, community events coordination, customer service, and hospitality. In her free time, Shiloh raises her toddler and teenager and takes them on many adventures for community advocation.

is a full-time Material Handling and Distribution Operations instructor with Ottumwa Job Corps Center. He has a background in material handling, law enforcement, young adult/adult ministries and community engagement services. Travis’ roles in these fields have provided him with experience and insight into career skills and studies, and how to support students in the classroom.

Stacy Checketts

worked in the manufacturing field, where he gained experience building motors for intergalactic ballistic missiles and solid rocket motors for space shuttles. Stacy acquired his millwright apprenticeship license, earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in business management, and bachelor’s degree in marketing. When the space shuttle program ended, Stacy started driving semi-trucks across the country and became a Heavy Truck Driving instructor for Loring Job Corps Center.

Scott Pearce - Career Journey - Loring Job Corps Center

Scott Pearce

is a CPP instructor with Loring Job Corps Center. He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, and his professional expertise includes computer graphics, electronics, aircraft maintenance, communications equipment installation and repair, and teaching in a tactical environment. Scott also brings four years of experience managing big-box stores. His professional background has provided him with insight into a variety of career skills he now brings to his classroom at Job Corps.
