As Reading instructor, Emily Carson enjoys the chance to help students along on their educational journeys and to watch them grow in the process. She previously taught high school and earned degrees in family and consumer science, and K-12 education, as well as a minor in English education at Western Michigan University.

Mark Sneed

has served as Welding instructor for Whitney M. Young Job Corps Center for over 20 years. He attended welding school in 1982 and has been welding for over 40 years. Mark takes pride in his ability to teach a new generation of welders and lead them to incredible successes.

Nicole R. Logan - Career Journey - Charleston Job Corps Center

Nicole R. Logan

attended Morehead State University, where she studied music education and played clarinet and traveled to Brazil with the MSU Symphony Orchestra. Nicole obtained a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in geology from Marshall University and a Juris Doctorate with a certificate in environmental justice from St. Thomas University College of Law. She hopes to stay in West Virginia and continue teaching students about the importance of a healthy work/life balance when attending ACT/OTP programs.

is a full-time Academic instructor with Charleston Job Corps Center. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from West Virginia State University. After graduating from WVSU, he spent over 14 years as a math teacher and coach, which has provided him with the experience and insight to teach in a classroom setting and motivate students to achieve their goals.

James Brown

is an Office Administration instructor at Charleston Job Corps Center. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history/political science with a minor in psychology, and a master’s degree in human services, marriage and family counseling. James is a certified Certiport proctor and ensures the credibility of all Certiport certification exams. He is passionate about seeing every student succeed and believes that if you do not give up you will be successful.
